Language development activities are essential for children to learn and grow. At Sterling Early Learning Academy, we have more than 55 years of experience caring for children and providing them with the foundations that support later learning. Our indoor play area encourages learning and our classrooms maximize our students' educational experiences. We also have staff trained in allergies and do not consume nuts.
The Loudoun Education Foundation is a 501 (c) (not-for-profit) organization that provides services to students and educators in Loudoun County, Virginia. Our curriculum is aligned with the Virginia Early Learning and Development Standards (ELDS) and the Guidelines for Birth and Five, focusing on early literacy, early mathematics education, as well as appropriate social and behavioral expectations for development. At Sterling Early Learning Academy, we provide language development activities such as staff reading, speaking, singing, showing and naming objects, and engaging in positive interactions with each child. We also expose children to both languages in an informal, conversational way that is natural for language development.
The children carry out the activities of the daily calendar in Spanish and the instructions are given in Spanish with the least possible translation. Class materials and activities satisfy children's natural curiosity, sense of order, and desire for independence as they learn and explore through their senses. Our beautiful learning center is conveniently located right across the street from Northern Virginia Community College, on Campus Drive, in a rural community. We strive to help our children develop a desire to learn more, allowing them to think of themselves as people who find strength, nourishment, and joy in learning.
